Prospect Mill is the second-largest elementary school in town by population. It is a feeder school for Southampton Middle, where students take fifth grade classes. A new elementary school is planned to open on Red Pump Road in 2011, before Campus Hills Elementary School opens (projected to be complete in 2013). This is expected to relieve the overcrowding problem and allow fifth graders to return from attending Southampton. "Bud" Beehler serves as the principal for this school, which borders Harford Technical High and the John Archer School.
