Pretty much the same story. I'm a 30+ year subscriber. Back in October I got a bill for the "next quarter" even though my subscription did not end until December. The "renewal" included a 20% price increase. Customer Satisfaction (sic) is a bunch of cheap Filipinos deliberately kept in the dark with no way to contact the U.S. Useless. I contacted the Director of Circulation Services at the Sun and she extended my subscription to its actual end date (wonder how many subscribers got cheated?). This past Friday I received the December to March bill with the 20% increase...right after they failed to deliver part of the paper on the 21st! I, too, will miss the local paper but delivery is unreliable and a 20% increase unconscionable. My recommendation: dump it.

In the past I had been a long time subscriber and reader of the Aegis. Then I started to have delivery problems. When the time came to renew, I declined. I did miss the local news in the Aegis and had contemplated subscribing again. On October 6th I was at the Darlington Apple Festival and the Aegis had a representative there. I decided to once again take a subscription. I paid $20.00 and received a $10.00 gift card to Wal-Mart for my 6 month continuous subscription. This past Wednesday, October 17th I received my Aegis paper. I assumed that the subscription had once again started up. On Friday, October 19, I received a copy of the Baltimore Sun, not the Aegis. I called the customer satisfaction number and was told by the representative that I didn’t have a subscription. I was told it had ended in August. When I explained how I signed up on October 6th, and that I have indeed received two papers, albeit the wrong Friday paper. I was then told that it was a coincidence. Really? I haven’t been receiving a paper for a few months, and suddenly at the same time I re-subscribed it coincidently was delivered to me in error? I decided to call back and see if a different representative could help me. This time I was told that I had a subscription to not the Aegis, but the Wednesday, Friday, and weekend Baltimore Sun. I have decided this is not worth the aggravation. I have enclosed the copy of the form I signed on October 6th.

I also paid for one year subscription which was to end Sept. 2012. I was told there was a price increase and would have to pay another 20.00 to keep the paper until Sept. They also told me I now own them 13.00. I too cancelled

On 9/22/11, I prepaid $41.95 for 1 year subscription ending 9/27/12.
Toda, I received a bill for yto$14.88 covering 7/4 - 10/2/12.
I called (The Phillipines) and was told there was a price increase and my $41.95 payment only covered delivery through today... NOT 9/27/12
There was an UNANNOUNCED 45% INCREASE and I was never even consulted. Since I was a long time subscriber (30+ years) I was told that they would honor my original payment through 9/27/12.
I had a better idea, CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION IMMEDIATELY and refund me 13 weeks of unused delivery. WHAT A DISGRACE.........
