There's no way being President is the toughest job in the world. As POTUS, you can basically takeRead More money from your customers at gunpoint. Totally different than running a real company.

Thank you Gary. I wish there were more reasonable people like you. I'm repulsed by theRead More increasingly "gimme" mentality of Americans. The post World War II generation took nothing for granted and everyone took personal responsibility for their livelihood. Sadly, that's not true today. And today's kids are growing up with parents (and a society) that perpetuates the "what's in it for me?" mentality. Incidentally, while I have been working my business for the past 6 years, my neighbor across the street was without a job for 2 years. While collecting unemployment, he filled his wall with video games, drank everyday, smoked, tattood his arms, and just sat in his livingroom playing video games. This is an able bodied, 36 year old man with 3 kids. Well, I have 3 kids too, and a mortgage, utilities, healthcare bills, etc. you name it (and that's not including the business expenses). And guess what I paid in self-employment taxes? HALF of my income!! So while I'm working 60 hours a week, he's sitting on his ass. And in the end, I have to fund his living expenses through exorbitant taxes. I never again want to hear anyone say the rich is not fair to the poor. I am by no means rich. But if I ever become rich under this system (which is unfair to ME) then I damn well deserve to get where I am. At that point, I will gladly be generous to the poor, but not the lazy poor. "If a man (able bodied) shall not work, neither shall he eat" I appreciate what my husband said once "Even if I have to scrub toilets, I will never choose not to work"

I agree with MG42. POTUS is set for life. Former Presidents rake in millions long after they'veRead More served. How do you know the CEO's of private companies aren't giving much of their income away? But it sounds like Fran wants to take it away by force.

The price of pork can also go up because the price of beef is up. It's not just weather andRead More disease, it's also cost of fuel.

With prices rising in all industries, I call it the disease of liberal Democrats! And it is theRead More disease that will wipe out civilization!
mark April 18, 2014 at 08:23 am
When taxes are imposed on various industries then to stay in business the prices increase on theRead More consumer! Obamacare , gas taxes, payroll taxes, tolls, the proposed soda and candy tax , your tobacco tax is 75% of what the product really costs! Commercial Property tax increases! Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

Hearing some good things about Heather. Going to take a look but Gansler seems to be running strongRead More and of course Brown's Ads are good.
Bob Bobbers April 4, 2014 at 09:26 am
LT Governors usually don't far well in Maryland. That leaves us with Gansler. He strikes me as justRead More another corrupt politician who is only interested in himself.
MoCoRes April 4, 2014 at 11:45 am
Yes, Maryland arguably has good schools and jobs at the moment. But a quick trip around the BeltwayRead More will show you that Virginia and D.C. are progressing and developing. Do I think it's becasue of lax rules in those areas? Maybe but not entirely. I'm a Democrat and I gladly voted for O'Malley. But my biggest problem with progressives in Maryland and other places is they tend to be more interested in activism rather than governing. Should businesses be able to walk all over us and do whatever they want? No. But there needs to be a proper balance between attracting business and regulations. And I don't think Maryland has it right now. Regarding the next governor, I don't know Brown and Mizeur all that well. But I don't trust Gansler.

Thanks for sharing this with me. I've been looking for a company where I can make signs or banners.Read More My friend said I should try checking out this site http://www.royalstamp.ca/products .

GO WEGMANS! And since the evil city of Westminster does not have a Wegmans (nor do they deserveRead More one!), it's a win win to take your hard earned dollars and spend it in a city that doesn't treat their residents as criminals! I used to feel guilty when I shopped at Wegmans. NOT ANY MORE!! Best food store on the planet!!!
Maryellen Brady April 1, 2014 at 11:00 am
Good for Wegmans, I sure hope they pay their employees well, promote from within and most of allRead More dont rely on taxpayers as does WALMART for their government corporate subsidies. Each WALMART costs taxpayers $900,000 a year. It would be good to know if WEGMANS is a real plus to the community, as is Costco.

I think we have 2 tax free holidays this year. This one and the one in August (3rd thru 9th). OfRead More course I needed to replace my hot water heater last month so I miss out on this one. lol
Shanna February 17, 2014 at 08:59 am
well they don't advertise it very good. Did anyone even know about this?
Bryan Harz February 17, 2014 at 09:23 am
You are right. I heard from a friend on Saturday. I also saw a TV ad, but still, not enough timeRead More to take advantage of it.

Doesn't look good! Not good publicity for First Mariner Bank and I don't blame the investors ifRead More they take all their money now!
macgeek February 11, 2014 at 11:42 am
I dont trust any banks anymore. they all follow the same outdated rules which help them and not us.Read More they win and we lose. borrow money and they charge 19% interest or more. if I save money, they give me .001% interest. seems a little one sided don't you think?

Bateman's Rt 1 food quality had gone down hill over time. Even the Bistro is not the same as theRead More original Harford Rd and Cub Hill Rd location.
Alana Denise Hicks-Amoroso February 5, 2014 at 01:36 pm
We actually loved Bateman's!! The Cajun wings were outstanding and their burgers are to die forRead More but.....the atmosphere in the dining section needs to be either updated or changed all together. It has no appeal at all. We always liked the old town Bel Air pictures that hung on the walls at one time. The tv was a nice touch but the wires hanging down were a distraction. I don't know.....I think a renovation would help the place immensely but please don't leave town.....no place in BelAir that I can get my Cajun wings that I love so much!!!! Good luck with everything.
Kelly C. Anderson February 6, 2014 at 10:12 am
I agree with the person above. I love the wings and the burgers.
Maryland's unemployment rate continues to remain below the national rate. File|Patch
HappieGrannie January 28, 2014 at 06:39 pm
Ok this report is so far from the truth it is sad. The reason the Unemployment rate is down isRead More because folks have used up their 29 weeks and are now off the books. They are still unemployed and those folks either are on welfare ( if they have kids otherwise they get no help there) or have just given up and are either living with friends or family or they are homeless. OweMalley doesn't count those folks because it messes with his numbers

I totally support them being able to have the chicken on the roof, but the drop in business mightRead More have something to do with it being 13 degrees below 0 lately
ssaunders March 6, 2014 at 11:41 am
The chicken is back on the roof!
Just Wondering March 10, 2014 at 01:08 pm
Just goes to show when you take over or buy a business you should always check to see if it was inRead More compliance with local laws and state laws. Just because it was there when you bought doesn't mean that it was within compliance.
