Harford's Craig: 'No Desire' For Speed Cameras

Harford County Executive David Craig outlined his stance on speed cameras—and a number of other topics—on a radio show Tuesday afternoon.

Harford County Executive David Craig claims he's not a speeder—and he doesn't think he needs a camera to prove it. Craig said on a radio show Tuesday afternoon that he has no interest in bringing speed cameras to the county. On WYPR-FM's Midday with Dan Rodricks Tuesday, Craig said: "I was never in favor of speed cameras personally, myself, and neither was our delegation when they voted on that bill years ago. Our County Council is not in favor of it. There's just, generally, not any desire to do speed cameras [in Harford County]."   » Listen to the audio here The proof is in the action—or inaction. While the county and its three municipalities—Aberdeen, Bel Air and Havre de Grace—may have discussed the viability of speed cameras behind …

Jacobs: Bills to Protect Children

Senator Nancy Jacobs offers a letter to the editor on bills she is currently pursuing.

From the office of Sen. Nancy Jacobs: ——— Most of us want all children to be safe. But the sad truth is there are repeated reports of children who are abused physically or sexually and even murdered. When they are harmed we must go to police. That did not happen in two high profile cases that captured the attention of the American public: the Casey Anthony trial and the scandal at Penn State University. Harford GOP On Annapolis

Chairman Patrick McGrady writes in on behalf of the Harford County Republican Party.

From Patrick McGrady, Chairman, Harford County Republican Party: ——— Dear Residents of Maryland: Governor Martin O'Malley continues to demonstrate the breadth of his big-government mentality during this ongoing legislative session in Annapolis. It is apparent that he is trying to position himself as a liberal leader as he looks ahead at future political office—and he is using the working-class people of Maryland as a stepping stone. Governor O'Malley introduced a budget that increases spending by more than $1 billion over FY2012, the last fiscal year's budget. This budget is larger than it has ever been, just like each and every budget from Governor O'Malley for the past six years of his term in office. This budget proposal includes …
