Man, Woman Run From Police After Allegedly Attempting To Cash Fraudulent Check

Two people recklessly led police on a pursuit from Edgewood to Perry Hall, police said.

A man and a woman dangerously evaded police Monday afternoon after a bank cashier suspected them of trying to cash a fraudulent check, according to a Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman.  The pair tried to cash the check at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union on the 1300 block of East Pulaski Highway in Edgewood Monday afternoon, which set in motion a search for the couple spanning Harford and Baltimore counties.  A teller at the bank contacted authorities after becoming suspicious about the check.  The couple fled the bank after seeing police cars pull into the parking lot, Edward Hopkins, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said.  Hopkins said the pair drove recklessly, speeding through multiple red …

Fallston Branch Of APGFCU Open For Business

The Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union branch in Fallston has been serving the community for about a month.

The construction phase is complete and Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union is now busy serving customers out of its new Fallston location. The new branch officially opened its doors Jan. 14. It is located at 210 Mountain Road in the developing Aumar Village Shopping Center that also houses Texas Roadhouse, a CVS Pharmacy and McDonald's. The Fallston branch joins locations in Bel Air, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Forest Hill, Edgewood, on post at Aberdeen Proving Ground and in Cecil County. The branch offers a 24-hour drive-up ATM and a night deposit drop. The lobby of the credit union is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m., according to a release from APGFCU. Are you a member …

Yes! What in the world happened?! I attended two of the planning meetings, and heard both times there could not be a left hand turn out of the shopping center onto Rt. 152. How did this get put in???? That whole intersection is so dangerous and there are accidents all the time at that intersection. Woman Robbed At Knifepoint Outside Bel Air ATM

The robbery took place Jan. 23.

A woman was robbed at knifepoint while using a Bel Air ATM, and police are looking for the man responsible. Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, a woman was visiting the ATM at Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, located at 321 S. Main Street in Bel Air, according to a release from the Bel Air Police Department. A man then walked up to the her, demanded cash and held her at knifepoint until she did as he commanded, the release states. The robber is described as a white man, about 5-foot-10-inches tall and 190-pounds between the age of 18 and 25. See surveillance photos attached to this story. Comptroller Honors Tina Mike at Edgewood High School

The Harford County resident was honored for her involvement in financial literacy programs.

Tina Mike of Havre de Grace was honored by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot Wednesday for her work at Edgewood High School. Mike, who is the assistant vice president of financial education for Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, helped pioneer a program at the high school to teach students about finances firsthand. With direction from Mike, APGFCU opened its first student-run credit union in Harford County at the high school in February 2012. Students are trained to work as tellers for the branch, which is open 52 days a year for two hours a day, scheduled around students' lunch periods, according to Credit Union Times. Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union loves Fallston—at least that's what the sign says. The federal credit union is building a new branch location near the intersection of MD Route 152 and Belair Road in Fallston. A sign announcing that the business is on its way sits outside the partially-completed business facing MD Route 152. Check out photos of the construction process attached to this post.
