Stetka Returns to C. Milton Wright Baseball

Joe Stetka recently resigned as head coach of the John Carroll School baseball team.

Joe Stetka is back. The baseball coach who resigned last week after two seasons at the John Carroll School will return to C. Milton Wright High School. Stetka coached junior varsity and varsity there from 2004–2009 before taking over for the Patriots. When Anthony Blackburn stepped down as Mustangs head coach earlier this month, Stetka jumped at the opportunity to return. “I guess you could say I’m back in the saddle again,” said Stetka, whose daughter will be a senior at C. Milton Wright in the fall. “Hopefully we can turn some things around there.” The 54-year-old, whose son also went to C. Milton Wright, graduated from Bel Air in 1976. Mustangs Baseball Coach, Blackburn, Stepping Down

One year after coaching C. Milton Wright High School’s baseball team to a historic season, head coach Anthony Blackburn is stepping down. The English teacher said he is transferring to Bel Air High School, where he will not pursue a coaching position. “They’ve got a [varsity] coach in place right there, they’ve got a good JV coach,” Blackburn said. “I thought it would be a good switch for me to have. It’s a time in my life where I can go ahead and do that.” The 42-year-old Havre de Grace resident has 3-year-old twins with his wife, Kelly, who also teaches at C. Milton Wright. Blackburn said his family played a role in the decision, but it is not the primary reason. “My wife has always been very supportive of me coaching,” he said. A year …
