Visions for Vacancies: PETCO

The former pet store has stood vacant for more than a year.

More than a year ago, PETCO in Bel Air closed it's doors permanently. The property, located at 615 Baltimore Pike, has remained vacant ever since. The space is located in the Tollgate Market Plaza between Jo-Ann Fabric and Sakura Japanese Steak & Seafood. What business do you think would be a good fit for this commercial property? Old Navy Move To Boulevard At Box Hill Confirmed

While the Old Navy located in the Harford Mall closed Thursday, it won't belong before Harford County

While the Old Navy located in the Harford Mall closed Thursday, it won't be long before shoppers again have access to the store in Harford County. Cash Mob to 'Strike' Bel Air Shop

Just the Occasion will be "cash mobbed" Saturday.

A Bel Air consignment shop will be "cash mobbed" this weekend. Just the Occasion is the target of Saturday's mob. Mobbers will meet at McShane's before heading over to the Churchville Road store at noon. A "cash mob" is a grassroots effort where community members each bring $20 and support a local establishment. The page for the event states that Just the Occasion is worthy for the mob because it has struggled since a recent move. "Having a cash mob would keep the business afloat so they can continue to help those in need locally," it states. Do you shop at Just the Occasion? Are you planning on participating in the cash mob? Tell us in the comments.

Old Navy Closed End Of Day Thursday

The longtime anchor store at the Harford Mall will not reopen Friday.

Thursday was the last chance shoppers had to visit Old Navy in the Harford Mall. Get daily and breaking news updates: sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Contact belair@patch.com with any news tips. At the end of business yesterday, the mall's longtime anchor store permanently closed its doors, a store employee confirmed. Now that the Bel Air store is closed, the nearest Old Navy location is at The Avenue in White Marsh. Lauri Altman, Harford Mall manager, said a new retailer is already slated to take over the space. Encore Shoes will take over the lease May 1 and begin renovating the space, Altman said. Will you miss Old Navy? Does Bel Air need a new shoe store? Leave a comment.

I'm sure Old Navy already has their maximum tax write off all set for 2013, so, donating to charity and helping others in need is just creating extra, unnecessary work in their eyes.   more ›

Freddies In Bel Air Permanently Closes Doors

The Bel Air business officially closed April 22.

The establishment once known as Dead Freddies is in fact dead. Freddies restaurant in Bel Air closed Monday citing ownership conflict. Write a review about your experience at Freddies and your best memories of the establishment on its Patch directory listing.  The Harford County Liquor Control Board received a resignation of liquor license from Freddies and letters from two licensees outlining the business's closure, officials said at Wednesday's liquor board meeting.   Adam Horn, one of the licensees, resigned his position at Freddie's. In a letter to the liquor board, he wrote, "conflict in ownership has reached a point where I do not wish to be involved anymore." Another licensee from Freddies, Steve Corillo, wrote on April 19 that, "…
