Accupay Payroll Services in Bel Air is suspected of collecting and withholding payroll taxes without forwarding them to the state and federal government.
The Bel Air payroll processing company Accupay, accused of defrauding clients of thousands of dollars, remains under investigation and the company's owner appeared in federal bankruptcy court this week. Bel Air Police launched an investigation into the business, located at 206 East Churchville Road, early last month after receiving numerous complaints from clients across the state about unpaid federal income tax withholdings. Investigators received at least 10 complaints of fraud and the company is being sued by five additional clients alleging similar losses of $465,000, according to a release from Del. The Bel Air South Community Foundation has organized a series of protests against the proposed Bel Air Walmart including one on April 6.
The latest in a series of rallies against the proposed Bel Air Walmart drew about 150 people Saturday, organizers say. Members of the Bel Air South Community Foundation say they want Walmart to expand the existing Abingdon location instead of building a new superstore in the area of Plumtree Road and MD Route 924. "After nine months many people continue to actively oppose with non-stop honking from [passersby] that also showed opposition to Wal-Mart’s proposed move," Steve Tobia, rally organizer, wrote in an email to Patch. Tobia went on to say that among those 150 rallying Saturday were Edgewood residents who said they want the store to remain where it so they wouldn’t have to drive the extra distance to Bel Air. The Harford County …

"We love being on Main Street," Gagnon said. She said the energy of being in the heart of Harford County and so close to the farmer's market and local businesses is ideal for her. Two of her nearest business neighbors compliment her the studio very well, offering personal …
