Second Amendment Rally Saturday In Bel Air

The rally is slated to take place at noon.

Local supporters of gun ownership rights will rally in Bel Air Saturday. A rally in support the right to bear arms is planned from noon until 2 p.m. April 27 outside the Harford County Circuit Court building on Main Street in Bel Air. The rally is intended to welcome General Assembly legislators back to Harford County and demonstrate support of their votes against Maryland gun control legislation. The entire Harford County delegation voted against the bill of gun control measures in the recent General Assembly session. Nevertheless, the legislation, supported by Gov. Martin O'Malley, passed the state Senate and House of Delegates. Participants are encouraged to bring a sign. Will you attend? What are your thoughts on gun ownership? Leave a…

Participants in the event have raised money leading up to Saturday's walk, when women and men alike will don high heels as a sign of solidarity and march through downtown Bel Air. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at MaGerk's Pub, 120 S. Bond Street. Walker registration is $25. If you're passionate about this cause, there's still time to make a general …

Bel Air's Kite Festival Soars

The weather cooperated for this weekend's Kite Festival in Bel Air.

Mild temperatures, sunshine and crisp breezes greeted kite enthusiasts in Bel Air Saturday. The town's eighth annual kite festival was a hit thanks in part to the weather and event organizers. Dozens of kites dotted the sky over Rockfield Park recreational fields between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with young children to adults trying their hands at kite flying. Have your own photos from the event? CASA of Harford County is organizing a vigil in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. At 7:30 p.m. on April 17, the community is invited to gather on Main Street outside the Harford County Circuit Court building, located at 20 West Courtland Street in Bel Air. "This is our first Candlelight Vigil in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. We hope to make this an annual event to continue to bring awareness to the issue of child safety and protection," CASA’s Director, Ross DiEdoardo, said in a release.
