'Cpl. Mike On A Bike' Bettering Bel Air For 20 Years

The Bel Air Police Corporal is lovingly known by some members of the community as "Mike on a Bike."

Perhaps best known for his work with schools and bike patrol, Cpl. Michael Clymer is a friendly face of the Bel Air Police Department the community will sorely miss. Clymer started with the Bel Air Police Department in June of 1993 after 20 years with the Baltimore County Police Department and 25 years with the Maryland National Guard. Hopkins said "Cpl. Mike on a Bike" is a well-known saying around town, and one he feels is a respectful and …

Police Seeking Bel Air 'Evel Knievel' After Fountain Jump

A YouTube video of a dirt bike jumping the fountain in front of Harford County courthouse is under investigation by police.

Bel Air has its own infamous stunt man after a YouTube video caught the attention of police. On Oct. 27, a video was posted to the popular video sharing website depicting a man in a cape and helmet completing a dirt bike jump over the landmark fountain in front of the Harford County Circuit Court building. You can find the video attached to this post. In the one minute and 13 second video entitled "Evil Kenevil lives in Bel Air" the rider breaks several laws, including driving the wrong way on Main Street. A small crowd watched the jump with enthusiasm, directly across the street from the Harford County Sheriff's Office Headquarters building. Bel Air Police didn't learn of the incident until three days later when an officer and motorcycle …

'No Foul Play' In Bel Air Death, Police Say

The investigation into the death of Titus Onuoha has been closed by police.

A Bel Air man was found dead outside his apartment in June, and police and the medical examiner have ruled no foul play was involved in the death. The body of Titus Onuoha was found in the 800 block of Old English Court on June 14. Onuoha's wife, Joy Onuoha, said detectives told her that her husband suffered trauma to the back of his head and neck, and she believed at the time that her husband met a violent end. The report from the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner, however, indicates Onuoha's death was caused by a medical issue. "There were no signs of foul play," Sgt. Jim Lockard with the Bel Air Police Department said. "His death appears to be medical." Lockard said the case has been closed based on the medical examiner's report. Joy…

Police Dissuade Residents From Staking Spots Before Parade Day

The Bel Air Police Department warns placing blankets and chairs along the parade route before Wednesday could lead to safety issues.

Wednesday marks July Fourth, and parade goers are eager to mark the perfect spot to watch the floats, bands and patriotic entertainment make their way along Main Street. The Bel Air Police Department, however, is asking that members of the community show restraint and wait until the day of the parade to set out chairs or blankets. "When chairs and other items are placed on the parade route to get 'just the right spot' it has created unintended consequences," states a release from Bel Air police. Unattended chairs left for days can blow into traffic and have damaged vehicles in previous years, police say. They can also prove to be tripping hazards for those walking the sidewalks of Bel Air, according to the release "There will be plenty of …
