Benson Post Office Robbed Second Time Within 5 Months

Police are investigating the weekend robbery.

UPDATE: (1:12 p.m.)—The Benson Post Office was robbed Saturday for the second time in less than six months and investigators believe the same person may be responsible for both. Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, a man wielding a handgun walked into the Post Office branch, located at 108 Connolly Road, according to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The armed man announced a robbery, jumped over the counter and stole an undetermined amount of cash then ran out of the building toward the 1800 block of Harford Road, the release states. The robber is described as a white man wearing camouflage pants and shirt, sunglasses and a hat, police said. Sheriff's deputies searched the area, but could not find a suspect. No injuries …

Police Release Composite Sketch Of Post Office Robber

Police are seeking the community's help in tracking down the man who robbed the Benson post office at gunpoint Wednesday. A man wearing sunglasses walked into the post office, located at 108 Connolly Road, around 1:45 p.m. and made his way to the counter. As the postal worker opened the cash register, the man pulled a gun, reached into the register and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The robber is described as a white man with dark hair in his 30's wearing blue jeans with red trim, a gray sweatshirt, a black cap and sunglasses. He was about 6 feet tall and weighs 190-200 pounds.
