A bomb threat was called in around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The state office building in Bel Air that houses Harford County District Court was evacuated Tuesday morning in response to a bomb threat. No device or immediate danger was found in the Mary Risteau Multi-Service Center at 2 S. Bond Street, however. The threat was called in around 8:30 a.m. and courthouse staff decided to evacuate the building, Bel Air Police Chief Leo Matrangola said. Bel Air officers assisted in the evacuation. A canine unit from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary, Matrangola said. The search was completed around 9:40 a.m. and people were then allowed to return to the building, Matrangola said.

UPDATE (1:45 p.m.)—The Harford County Health Department was evacuated Wednesday after a health department employee received a bomb threat. Employees were allowed to return to the building shortly after 1 p.m. "Right now it's under investigation," Bel Air Deputy Police Chief Rick Peschek said as employees returned to the building. Around 11:29 a.m. an employee of the health department, located at 120 S. Hays Street, received a bomb threat, according to Bel Air Police Chief Leo Matrangola.
