Burger King BB Gun Shooting Prompts Charges

No injuries were reported as a result of the Bel Air incident.

Bystanders reported a shooting outside Burger King in Bel Air Monday evening, but police later learned the weapon involved was a BB gun, not a handgun. Around 6:15 p.m. several people contacted Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack to report a shooting outside Burger King, located at 2110 Emmorton Road, according to a release from state police. Troopers and deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene a short time later and canvassed the area. No one was injured, and investigators found no physical evidence of shell casings or property damage at the location, the release states. Just Driving Thru? Sonic Coming to Bel Air

If you want fast food in Bel Air, Emmorton Road may soon be your one-stop street. Joining Burger King, McDonald’s, Arby’s and others along Maryland Route 924, a Sonic Drive-In is expected to open by the end of the year. Rick Joshi, 26, said he and two business partners won approval to build on the site in February and “just recently” received financing from a bank. The property is near Plumtree Road, directly in front of Lorien Bel Air—an assisted living center—and adjacent to a Walgreens Pharmacy that is being built. “If everything goes as scheduled, we will start building in July [and] open by October,” said Joshi, who also owns Sonics in Elkton, Salisbury and his hometown of Easton.
