This praying mantis was hanging out on the window at the Abingdon Library.
Nice day for a prayer, isn't it? I was in a meeting recently at Abingdon Library when this friendly creature was spotted scaling the building. What do you think he was praying for in Abingdon? Do you have a good caption for this photo? See past caption contests here:

I was driving into town Thursday afternoon, annoyed that I kept having to adjust my windshield wipers. Then I saw this guy. Shorts. Tennis shoes. A hoodie. And a huge sign around his neck. Now I'm not asking you to make fun of the poor soul, but can you come up with a creative caption on this gloomy, wet day? By the way, he's giving me a thumbs up, right? Not the "other" finger? Would someone give this thing a sandwich?

There I was, enjoying my turkey panini at Panera Bread, when this giant grasshopper began wreaking havoc and crushing cars outside. At least that's how I remember it. Can you come up with a good caption for these photos? See past caption contests here:

I got a better look this time, but I don't think it was the same bug.

Remember this ugly thing? I think I found a relative. Or it's mother. Something. I stepped outside my apartment Tuesday morning and this ugly ... creature, was on the edge of the door. Follow Bel Air Patch on Facebook and Twitter. I kindly scraped it off with some junk mail from Comcast and was on my way. But not before taking a few photos. All three (above) are of the same bug at the same time. The bright one was taken with a flash and the other two without. Any bug experts who want to weigh in are encouraged to do so. I need to know if my life is in danger.

Any insect experts out there?
I was leaving my apartment today and saw this bug crawling outside the door. Does anyone know how to classify this thing?

Bel Air head coach David Huryk instructs his players at a preseason practice.
Bel Air football head coach David Huryk told his team to watch out for "this guy" as he hoisted a cone over his head at a recent practice. I have no idea why a traffic cone would give his team so much trouble, but he's the coach. Can you think of a creative caption for this photo? Add it in the comments.

Our friend fell asleep on a bench along Bond Street outside the Harford County District Court.
Can someone get this guy a pillow? Well at least it looks like he has a lunch. He fell asleep on a Bond Street bench outside the Harford County District Court. What caption can you come up with for this photo? Add it in the comments.

What was going wrong under the hood?
This Bel Air Police Department cruiser got a little overheated in Shamrock Park. Can you come up with a good, respectful caption for this photo of the town's finest and their car trouble?

Did a reader strike gold with this photo, or are they imagining things?
Sometimes you see a giant praying mantis on a telephone pole. Others, an actual snow angel. But how about "pi" in the sky? That's what one reader (read: my dad) sees in this photo. Do you agree. Or is he just crazy 3.14 times over? If you have a better caption idea, write it in the comments. And of course, always feel free to email your own photos to BelAir@Patch.com.

Too bad we don't have a YouTube video of this photo to make Bel Air famous.
Remember Paul Vazquez? You know, the guy who broke down crying at the sight of a double rainbow at Yosemite Bear Mountain? "What does this mean?" said Vazquez, who has garnered nearly 30 million YouTube hits. "It's so bright and vivid. Oooooh! Oooooh! Oooooh!" I don't know if this one taken Tuesday in Bel Air is worth crying about, but I appreciate Sarah Williams for taking it and ABC2News' Justin Berk for sharing it on Twitter. Do you know what it means? Or do you just have a fun caption? Write it in the comments.
