Investigators have released video of the man suspected of twice setting fire to the Denny's in Edgewood. There is a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. On Aug. 3 flames engulfed the business located at 1803 Edgewood Road. The blaze caused about $500,000 damage to the business and sent both a firefighter and employee to the hospital, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. Deputy State Fire Marshals believe the same man is behind two instances of arson.
Fire officials believe the Edgewood Denny's was twice the target of arson with the second fire causing about $500,000 damage. On Aug. 3 flames engulfed the business located at 1803 Edgewood Road. The blaze caused about $500,000 damage to the business and sent both a firefighter and employee to the hospital, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. Investigators believe the Aug. 3 fire was an act of arson and that the business was targeted both times by the same man. Around 8:45 a.m. July 4 a fire started in a trash can in the men's room of the business, according to the fire marshal's office. Investigators believe that the Friday fire at Denny's Restaurant in Edgewood that caused about $500,000 in damage was an act of arson. Deputy state fire marshals determined the blaze was set intentionally in the men's bathroom of the restaurant before 10:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, according to a news release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. The unidentified suspect is described as a 190-pound man between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing an orange shirt, dark shorts, dark sunglasses, dark baseball cap and either loafers or sandals. One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
A fire broke out at the Denny's Restaurant in Edgewood Friday and video of the blaze has since been posted on YouTube.com. Friday morning a fire started at Denny's located at 1803 Edgewood Road in Edgewood, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company twitter feed. The first firefighters on the scene saw flames coming from the back of the building, according to the twitter post by Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. The fire was controlled within 45 minutes and one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire has not been determined, ExploreHarford.com reported.
