POLICE: Edgewood Death Ruled Homicide

The Harford County Sheriff's Office discovered a man dead Sunday morning inside an Edgewood home.

Medical examiners have ruled the death of an Edgewood man found dead in his home Sunday a homicide. Robert Wesley Johns, 51, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside his Edgewood home on the 1700 block Fountain Rock Way, according to a news release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the home to check on Johns' well-being. When they arrived, the door was locked, but they heard the sound of the television from inside and saw blood on the door, according to the release. Deputies then spotted a body on the floor inside the home and forced their way inside. The house appeared to have been ransacked, the release states. Edgewood 7-Eleven Robbed At Knifepoint

The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes Saturday.

Police are asking for the community's help in finding the man responsible for robbing an Edgewood convenience store at knifepoint Saturday. Around 4:42 a.m. Harford County sheriff's deputies responded to a hold-up alarm at the 7-Eleven located at 1020 Gateway Road, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Deputies spoke with the store clerk who said a man walked into the store displaying a knife, took money out of the cash register and assorted cigarettes off the storage shelf then ran toward Gateway Road, the release states. No injuries were reported in connection with the robbery. PHOTO: Edgewood Burger King Armed Robbery Suspect

The Harford County Sheriff's Office seeks help identifying suspects from the March 14 robbery on Edgewood Road.

Officials released the picture of one man they say was involved in the recent armed robbery of the Edgewood Burger King in hopes that the public can help identify him. Two men wearing ski masks entered the Burger King on the 1800 block of Edgewood Road at 10:20 p.m. on Friday. One person pulled a gun and demanded cash, according to Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins. They left with an undisclosed amount of money from the register, Hopkins said. The suspect in the picture was described as 6' to 6'2" with a thin build, according to officials. Man Charged In Edgewood Fatal Shooting

Police arrested 21-year-old Garfield Smith III Tuesday in what detectives suspect may have been a drug deal gone bad.

An Edgewood area man was arrested and charged Tuesday after allegedly shooting and killing an Edgewood teen and injuring another last week in what police believe may have started as a drug deal. Garfield Smith III, 21, with addresses in the 1600 block of Candlewood Court in Edgewood and the 500 block of Magnolia Ridge Drive in Joppa, Was charged Tuesday with first- and second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder and eight related charges, online court records show. The charges stem from a Jan. 31 shooting in Edgewood. Bail Set at $1M for Edgewood Man after Apartment Incident

The 44-year-old man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and fired a gun inside their apartment.

After an alleged altercation with his girlfriend Sunday night, an Edgewood man is in custody at the Harford County Detention Center, with bail set at $1 million, police said. David McCracken, 44, is facing multiple charges, including assault and gun violations. McCracken was watching football with his girlfriend and her brother in the apartment they shared on the 900 block of Cedar Crest Court North when "suddenly and for an unknown reason" he hit his girlfriend, threw her to the ground and began choking her, she told police. She was able to break free and went to a neighbor's apartment, police said. After she returned and found McCracken armed with a shotgun, she went back to the neighbor's and called police. Man in Custody after Domestic Incident in Edgewood

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said that officers blocked off the area around an apartment Sunday evening.

A man is in police custody Sunday evening after he reportedly threatened his girlfriend with a gun, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. At 7:09 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a domestic incident on the 900 block of Cedar Crest Court North and heard a shot fired, said Edward Hopkins, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Officers set up a perimeter and ensured people either evacuated the building or were safely sheltered inside, Hopkins said. The special response team from the sheriff's office was called in to assist, Hopkins said. 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Edgewood Double Shooting

The incident took place late Thursday night in Harford County.

One teen is dead and another is hospitalized after a double shooting in Edgewood late Thursday. Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported shooting around 10:36 p.m. Thursday to the 1600 block of Candlewood Court in Edgewood, according to a department release. The teenage males were found at nearby Cunion Recreational Park, located off Trimble Road, police said. One of the teens was flown to shock trauma, while the other was transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead around midnight, according to police.
