The Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union branch in Fallston has been serving the community for about a month.
The construction phase is complete and Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union is now busy serving customers out of its new Fallston location. The new branch officially opened its doors Jan. 14. It is located at 210 Mountain Road in the developing Aumar Village Shopping Center that also houses Texas Roadhouse, a CVS Pharmacy and McDonald's. The Fallston branch joins locations in Bel Air, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Forest Hill, Edgewood, on post at Aberdeen Proving Ground and in Cecil County. The branch offers a 24-hour drive-up ATM and a night deposit drop. The lobby of the credit union is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m., according to a release from APGFCU. Are you a member …

Lavish Salon & Spa held its grand opening celebration last month.
There's a new name in beauty here in Harford County. Lavish Salon & Spa, located at 2739 Fallston Road in Fallston next to Basta Pasta, opened its doors in November 2012. Last month the salon officially celebrated its grand opening. "So far we have over 650 clients in just that short time," manager Amanda Bruno said. The salon is jointly owned by Catherine Bailey and Jessica Perrine—both Harford County residents. "We feel that beauty is important to everyone, we want everyone to feel beautiful and it should be affordable to do so," Bruno said. The new branch is under construction.
Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union loves Fallston—at least that's what the sign says. The federal credit union is building a new branch location near the intersection of MD Route 152 and Belair Road in Fallston. A sign announcing that the business is on its way sits outside the partially-completed business facing MD Route 152. Check out photos of the construction process attached to this post. The steakhouse will officially open for business Monday.
For those who often travel Mountain or Belair roads in Fallston, the bright red sign for Texas Roadhouse may have piqued your interest. The newly constructed steakhouse, located at 2428 Belair Road in Fallston, is scheduled to officially open Monday, Oct. 1. The restaurant offers ribs, steak, burgers and other steakhouse specialties. The restaurant is expected to fill the space left vacant by the Fallston Diner.
Nearly one year after the Fallston Diner closed suddenly, a new tenant has announced it is "coming soon" to the space. Fallston Diner closed Nov. 22, 2011, owner John Korfiatis said at the time. Lease issues were a major factor in closing the business. Since autumn the site, located at 2414 Belair Road in Fallston, has been boarded up, but recently it started showing signs of activity. Signs announcing Plaza Mexico Restaurant have been posted on the building and along U.S. Route 1, or Belair Road. The building permit posted on the door of the business authorizes interior alterations including construction of a new bar. It is unclear when the business is expected to open. Calls to the leasing agent were not immediately returned.

The business officially opened this month.
Residents in the Fallston area now have a new place to get prescriptions filled. CVS Pharmacy opened a new store location at 228 Mountain Road in Fallston. The business officially opened Sept. 14, a store employee confirmed. Several other businesses are under construction in the growing shopping center, including a Texas Roadhouse restaurant and an APG Federal Credit Union. A McDonald's is also up and running. A local farm shared a photo on Patch.
Fresh Fallston flowers on a nearby vineyard are a reality every Thursday. Belvedere Farms of Fallston sets up shop every week for "Good Life Thursdays" at Boordy Vineyard in Hydes, MD. The event offers a farmers market, dinner, wine and live music. Admission is free and the event takes place every week through September 6. Katie Conner posted a picture to the Bel Air Patch Facebook page of Bevedere Farms' fresh flowers at this week's event. "Belevdere Farm @ Boordy Market. Yes! What in the world happened?! I attended two of the planning meetings, and heard both times there could not be a left hand turn out of the shopping center onto Rt. 152. How did this get put in???? That whole intersection is so dangerous and there are accidents all the time at that intersection.
