Fallston High's 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' Opens Friday

Fallston High School students will perform their fall drama this weekend.

Fallston High School students will take the stage Friday and Saturday to deliver dramatic delight to their school and community. Students will perform "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school's auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door at $3 for students and $5 for adults. Fallston High School is located at 2301 Carrs Mill Road in Fallston. Will you be supporting these local students? Leave a comment.

UPDATE: Early Dismissal at Fallston High School Wednesday

Harford County Public Schools announced the closure shortly after noon Wednesday.

UPDATE: (3:06 p.m.)—An area-wide power outage led to the early dismissal of Fallston High School students Wednesday. Students were dismissed at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to a message from Teri Kranefeld, manager of communications with Harford County Public Schools. All after school and evening activities at the school are also cancelled, including parent/teacher conferences, Kranefeld wrote in an email. Around 10:30 a.m. power went out in the Fallston area, BGE spokeswoman Rachael Lighty said Wednesday afternoon. "We had an issue when one of our overhead lines went out," Leighty said. About 4,096 customers in and around Fallston were impacted, Leighty said. The issue was remedied around noon, however the decision to dismiss Fallston …

Fallston High Class of 2012 Embraces the Future

About 271 Fallston Cougars received their high school diplomas Thursday evening in Bel Air.

Fallston High School graduated the Class of 2012 Thursday night with approximately 271 seniors crossing the stage at Bel Air High School. You could feel the excitement as the seniors awaited their entrance into the gymnasium where they would share one last memory as a class. Seniors Rachel Coonan, Abby McSorley, and Corinne Croucher, all friends since middle school, shared how they would miss waking up and seeing their friends and family every morning. "I'm going to miss the comfort and security of high school; like always knowing I could fall back on my friends, my family and my teachers," shared Croucher. Fallston 'Best Buddies' Nominated for Award

Amanda Kraemer and Bailey Graf are the first pair to be nominated as one of Maryland's outstanding buddy pairs.

  From cheering on the Fallston High School field hockey team to shopping at the Harford Mall, Best Buddies Bailey Graf and Amanda Kraemer have done it together. As first reported by the school's paper, The Print, Graf and Kraemer were nominated by Best Buddies Maryland as an outstanding Buddy Pair. Graf and Kraemer are the first pair from Fallston High School to be nominated for the award, according to the story in The Print. The Best Buddies web site defines the group as a nonprofit organization that is "dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities." Fallston Girls Lacrosse Team Wins State Semifinal

The Fallston girls go on to play Winters Mill in the championship game this week.

The Fallston girls lacrosse team squeezed out a 14-13 win over Parkside during double overtime of the Class 2A/1A state semifinal Saturday afternoon Parkside made a comeback in the second half closing a 9-5 gap to tie it up at 11 at the end of regulation. The Cougars weren't done, however, fighting two back-and-forth rounds of overtime to come out on top. Fallston will face Winters Mill High School for the state championship title at 8 p.m. Tuesday at UMBC Stadium.
