Woman Pleads Guilty In Fatal Bel Air Crash

Ashley Nicole Albers was driving while under the influence of drugs at the time of the fatal July 2011 crash outside the Fountain Green Swim Club.

A Bel Air woman was sentenced to the maximum jail time of 10 years after pleading guilty Monday to one count of vehicular manslaughter. Based on the plea agreement, Ashley Nicole Albers will only serve five of those years in jail, with the remaining five suspended. Albers, 28, with addresses in the 700 block of Farnham Place in Bel Air and the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood, was indicted in May on charges of vehicular manslaughter and eight related counts. Bel Air Woman Indicted in Fatal Car Crash

The car that Nicole Ashley Albers was driving hit another vehicle head-on.

A Bel Air woman was indicted Tuesday in connection with a July 2011 accident on MD Route 543 in the Bel Air area that claimed a woman's life. Maryland State Police need your help investigating last week's fatal crash on Maryland Route 543. Lt. Chuck Moore, spokesman for the Bel Air Barrack, asked Thursday for people who saw the crash, or witnessed actions of the drivers before the crash, to come forward.
