With most of Maryland under a winter storm watch, BGE brings on extra workers.
A winter storm could dump more than a foot of snow in central Maryland. From Tuesday evening to Wednesday night, a winter storm watch is in effect for Harford County and most of the state, according to the National Weather Service. During a winter storm watch, "there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel," according the weather service. On Monday, the weather service also issued a small craft advisory on the Chesapeake Bay due to wind. It warned coastal flooding may occur Wednesday as the result of snow melt. "Snow accumulations are forecasted to reach between six to 15 inches," according to a news release from Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE). Wind gusts could get as strong as 50 mph during the storm, …
