Harford Sheriff's Deputy Pleads Guilty To Bribery
Todd E. Johnson pleaded guilty Monday in Harford County District Court.
A Harford County Sheriff's Office deputy was sentenced to three years probation Monday after pleading guilty to bribery. As a condition of the plea, Deputy First Class Todd E. Johnson resigned from the sheriff's office, according to a release from the Harford County state's attorney's office. Johnson, a seven-year veteran of the sheriff's office, gave Final Notice Recovery and Location of 4501 Curtis Avenue in Baltimore unauthorized access to police databases. The business is desribed as a towing company that repossesses vehicles for banks and creditors, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Sheriff: 2 Harford County Employees Charged with Gasoline Theft
The public works employees allegedly used the county's gas pumps to fuel their personal vehicles more than 40 times.
Two Port Deposit residents employed by Harford County were charged with theft and scheming after they were suspected of repeatedly stealing gas from Scarboro Landfill, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Thursday. Government officials reported to the sheriff's office that Tracy L. Sexton, 43, and James E. Doran, 46, were using the county fuel pumps at the landfill to gas up their personal vehicles, police said. Both individuals worked for the Harford County Department of Public Works; Doran was employed at the waste disposal center in Street and Sexton with the division of highways, according to Robert Thomas, Harford County Government spokesman. Police Seek Suspected Identity Thief
The Harford County Sheriff's Office has exhausted leads
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help after exhausting leads in search of a suspected identity thief. On Dec. 12 employees at the Family Dollar Store in the 1800 block of Pulaski Highway in Edgewood told deputies a customer passed a fraudulent check for $100, according to a release from the sheriff's office. After pursuing a number of leads, investigators are asking for the community's help in identifying the man pictured in surveillance footage in connection with identity theft and fraud, the release states. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Larry DeFazio with the sheriff's office at 443-409-3333.

The accident took place between the CSX railroad Maryland Route 152 and Joppa Road crossings.
UPDATE: (4:35 p.m.)—A man apparently wearing earbuds and walking on a railroad track in Joppa, MD, was struck and killed Thursday by a train that came up from behind him. Police have identified the victim as Kevin Scott Street, 37, of Aberdeen. Around 12:11 p.m., the Street was walking westbound on the CSX railroad tracks between the Maryland Route 152 and Joppa Road crossings, said Edward Hopkins, spokesman with the Harford County Sheriff's Office. At the same time, a train, also headed westbound, came up behind him. Witnesses told police the pedestrian had earbuds or headphones on at the time, Hopkins said. Police Seek 2 People In Suspected Bel Air Abduction Attempt
The incident took place in the Cedarday community at the end of April; police released additional details in the case Tuesday.
Police are looking for two people suspected of trying to lure three children into a van as the children walked home from their Cedarday community bus stop in late April. Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the Cedarday Drive development around 6 p.m. April 24 to take a report on the incident, according to a post on the sheriff's office website. The children, two 10-year-olds and a 9-year-old, said a man driving a van called to them and told them to get inside the vehicle, then sped up as the children started to run, according to Explore Harford. Harford County To Recognize Top Officers In DUI Arrests
The Harford County State's Attorney's Office has recognized drunk and drugged driving enforcement for the past 22 years.
Harford County law enforcement officers strive to keep impaired drivers off the road, and this month the Harford County State's Attorney's Office will recognize the 28 troopers, deputies and officers who officials there say have done it best. State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly will present the awards at 7 p.m. May 15 in the ceremonial courtroom in the Harford County Circuit Court building, according to a release from the state's attorney's office. "Our law enforcement officers are the best in their efforts to maintain safety on the county's roads," Cassilly said in the release. Harford Deputy Charged With Reckless Endangerment
A deputy with the Harford County Sheriff's Office has been charged in connection with firing his service weapon at a suspect.
A deputy with the Harford County Sheriff's Office was charged this week after firing his service weapon at a suspect while off duty, police confirmed Wednesday. Detective First Class Christopher Michael Beheles, 37, is charged with reckless endangerment in connection with the incident. Beheles was served with a criminal summons in the case Wednesday, online court records show. The charges stem from an April 8 accident that sparked a police pursuit. Around 4:55 p.m. that day, Beheles was westbound on Norrisville Road when the car in front of him stopped to turn left onto White Hall Road and a Toyota 4Runner rear-ended his unmarked patrol car, Edward Hopkins, a sheriff's office spokesman, said at the time of the crash. First off all cops are not more important then the rest of the community. Why do they get more lean way then everyone else? He was off duty so he was not acting in the line of duty. Benson Post Office Robbed Second Time Within 5 Months
Police are investigating the weekend robbery.
UPDATE: (1:12 p.m.)—The Benson Post Office was robbed Saturday for the second time in less than six months and investigators believe the same person may be responsible for both. Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, a man wielding a handgun walked into the Post Office branch, located at 108 Connolly Road, according to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The armed man announced a robbery, jumped over the counter and stole an undetermined amount of cash then ran out of the building toward the 1800 block of Harford Road, the release states. The robber is described as a white man wearing camouflage pants and shirt, sunglasses and a hat, police said. Sheriff's deputies searched the area, but could not find a suspect. No injuries …
