Teenage Girl Struck, Hospitalized in Bel Air

Emergency crews responded to East Churchville Road, Maryland Route 22, and North Fountain Green Road, Maryland Route 543, in Bel Air Monday evening.

A teenage girl was seriously injured Monday evening in Bel Air when she was struck by a vehicle, Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS spokesman Rich Gardiner confirmed. Emergency crews responded to the intersection of East Churchville Road, Maryland Route 22, and North Fountain Green Road, Maryland Route 543, shortly before 6:30 p.m. The 16-year-old victim was flown to a regional trauma center, Gardiner said. No further information was available on her condition or the vehicle involved, he said.

Tractor Trailer Topples Utility Poles, Closes Route 543

A late morning accident damaged several utility poles and closed a portion of MD Route 543 to traffic for several hours.

  A late morning accident on the outskirts of Bel Air in Creswell was impacting traffic into rush hour Monday, with MD Route 543 expected to remain closed well into the evening, authorities said. Around 11 a.m., a tractor trailer was involved in an accident along MD Route 543, or Creswell Road, in the area of MD Route 136, or Calvary Road, according to Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack. While no one was injured in the crash, the tractor trailer took down about half a dozen utility poles in the area, state police said. MD Route 543 was closed between MD Route 136 and Goat Hill Road at 3:30 p.m. and was expected to remain closed to traffic for six additional hours while pole issues are being addressed, state police said. UPDATE: Man Flown Out After Friday Morning Accident

MD Route 543 in the area of Goat Hill Road was closed Friday morning after a serious accident that claimed the life of a Forest Hill man.

UPDATE (10 a.m. Monday)—An accident in the Creswell area claimed the life of a Forest Hill man and closed a portion of Maryland Route 543 to traffic Friday morning. Around 7:40 a.m. three cars crashed in the area of MD Route 543 and Goat Hill Road in the Bel Air, Creswell area, according to Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack. Thomas John Higgins, 52, of Guy Way in Dundalk, was driving a 2005 Ford van northbound on Creswell Road, or Maryland Route 543, when the van crossed the center line and swiped a Chevrolet Malibu heading southbound, according to state police. Bel Air Accident Injures 2

Two people sustained minor injuries after an accident on Route 543 Tuesday night.

An accident on Route 543 Tuesday night sent two people to a local hospital with minor injuries. Around 8:44 p.m. an accident took place on Route 543 in the area of Leeswood Route near C. Milton Wright High School, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. Two patients were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries, Gardiner said. No helicopter was called to the scene, according to Gardiner.

3 Siblings Killed in Bel Air Accident

Police responded to the scene of a serious accident in the Bel Air area late Monday night.

  UPDATE (7:41 a.m. Tuesday)—A serious accident in the area of Wheel Road and Route 543 claimed the lives of three siblings Monday night. David S. Bauguess, 29, Ashley M. Bauguess, 24, and Joseph M. Bauguess, 17, siblings who lived in the 1300 block of Marquis Court in Fallston, died in the crash while two other people were taken to a Baltimore hospital, according to Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack. The fatal crash happened around 10 p.m. when three vehicles crashed on Route 543 about half a mile south of Wheel Road. Women in Fatal Route 543 Accident Face Theft Charges

Both are charged in connection with the theft of items from the Bel Air CVS.

Two Bel Air women involved in the July 21 fatal accident on Maryland Route 543 have been charged with theft, according to court documents. Nicole Ashley Albers, 27, of the 700 block of Farnham Place, has been charged with one count each of theft less than $100 and theft less than $1,000, court records show. Alycia Marie Hoffman, 23, of the 800 block of Albion Place, has been charged with two counts of theft less than $100. Albers was the driver and Hoffman her lone passenger in the July accident that killed Carolyn Dicocco, 64, of Bel Air, according to Maryland State Police. Biker Dies After Route 543 Crash

The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in Belcamp.

UPDATE (Sunday 7:03 a.m.)—One unidentified man riding a motorcycle died Saturday night after an accident at the intersection of Maryland Route 543 and Route 7 in Belcamp, according to a Maryland State Police dispatcher. One concern I have is since 543 opened is the amount of tractor trailers allowed on the road despite signs saying no. I have lived off of 543 for 24 years and am sickened by the amount of death that has occurred in the roads short term of service to drivers. You ask how to make it safer?
