Bundley Still Inspires
Friends and family gathered to remember Devonte Bundley, who was laid to rest Saturday.
Even in his final hours, Devonte Bundley made others smile. Just before he passed out and was taken to the hospital Oct. 1, he lightened the mood at his first college basketball practice. "We were doing a butterfly stretch, and he said his boxers ripped. His last words were a joke," teammate Lionel Perkins Jr. said. Perkins, a Bel Air High School alumni, faced Bundley, a Harford Tech graduate, for two years before they were joined at Harford Community College. Now Perkins was remembering Bundley just hours after he was laid to rest at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore.
