Joe's Crab Shack Construction Bid Awarded

The Boulevard at Box Hill business will join Wegmans in the fall.

Annapolis-based construction company Encore Construction announced via Twitter recently that it was awarded a contract to build Joe’s Crab Shack. The seafood restaurant will join Wegmans and other businesses on the Boulevard at Box Hill. “Encore is very excited to be working with Joe’s Crab Shack on their Abingdon, Md. location,” project manager Kevin Rogers told Patch in an email. “We teamed with Joe’s Crab Shack on their Greenbelt, Md. location as well and it continues to be a great fit for our companies to work together.” They were awarded the project July 7 and the opening is scheduled for mid-November. Panera Bread is Wegmans' Newest Neighbor

The Boulevard at Box Hill's first phase of businesses have all been announced.

The “bakers of bread” will join Boulevard at Box Hill cornerstone Wegmans as the final Phase I business in Abingdon’s newest shopping center. For instant updates follow Bel Air Patch on Facebook and Twitter. Panera Bread is coming to the plaza atop Merchant Boulevard, according to the site’s leasing agent, Tom Fidler. Joe’s Crab Shack and a PNC Bank are also part of the project’s first phase, as first reported by Patch. Wegmans is scheduled to open Sept. 18 and Joe’s on Oct. 1. PNC Bank and Panera Bread are expected to open in late September or early October, but no specific dates have been announced. Now Hiring: Wegmans Accepting Applications for 550 New Workers

The Abingdon store is scheduled to open Sept. 18.

Community members could work for what Fortune magazine calls the third-best employer in the country: Wegmans Food Markets. The Abingdon store, set to open Sept. 18, is accepting applications for 150 full-time positions. (Click here to apply.) “There are great opportunities,” company spokeswoman Jo Natale told Patch. “We will spend just about $1.6 million training for the Bel Air store alone.” The grocer, located at 2941 Emmorton Road, just off Interstate 95, plans to hire 600 workers, 550 of which will be new employees. The store will take applications for the 450 part-time jobs in July. Joe's Crab Shack to Join Wegmans, PNC Bank, in Boulevard at Box Hill

The Wegmans opening date has been moved to Sept. 18.

Seafood lovers rejoice. Joe’s Crab Shack will be the first restaurant to join Wegmans in the Boulevard at Box Hill. Joe's is scheduled to open Oct. 1, less than two weeks after the grocery superstore’s opening on Sept. 18 (three days later than its original start date). PNC Bank, which is scheduled to begin construction in the next four to six weeks, will open on or near the same day as Wegmans.
