The gentlemen of Robbie's First Base in Timonium share their thoughts on the Super Bowl.
The Davis men seldom agree when it comes to sports. And that's the way we like it. This week, however, they are united in their belief that the Ravens will bring back a Super Bowl trophy to Baltimore. For the uninitiated, Robbie Davis, Sr. and Robbie Davis, Jr. are the stars of Ball Boys, an ABC pawn-style reality show filmed at their memorabilia shop Robbie's First Base in Timonium. Looking around the shop on West Ridgely Road, one could make the argument that the Davis boys could retire on their signed helmets, balls and posters should the Ravens beat San Francisco Sunday. Baltimore Ravens linebacker 'Ray Lewis' said on SNL he would be heading to a celestial place if the Ravens win the Super Bowl.
It wasn't really Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis appearing on Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" over the weekend, but Keenan Thompson stood in effectively. Thompson played the effusive linebacker to perfection. He brought the energy, the emotion and of course, the face paint. Watch his exchange with SNL's Seth Meyers above. He finishes it with a bold prediction: Thompson: Seth, if we win the Super Bowl, I’m gonna go to the 50-yard line of the Superdome, kneel down and then I’m gonna ascend into heaven. Harford County Government employees held a fundraiser for the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation.
Harford County Government employees brought some added meaning to Purple Friday last week. County workers held a bake sale and raised $700 for the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation, which aims "to provide personal and economic assistance to disadvantaged youth," according to a news release from County Executive David Craig's office. The bake sale was organized by Kimberly Spence, who is a Harford County resident and Chief of the Office of Budget and Management Research. "Our county employees are known for their spirit and love for the Ravens as well," Craig said in the release. "The bake sale was our small way of saying thank you to the Ravens for an outstanding year and pay[ing] tribute to future Hall of Fame member Ray Lewis." All baked goods were…

The Ravens head to Denver to take on the Broncos in an AFC semifinal game Saturday.
The big question for Ravens fans is, well, now what? What can the Ravens do on the road against Denver this weekend in the AFC semifinal after pulling off an emotional win over the Colts Sunday in Baltimore? A win versus the Broncos would land the team in the AFC title game for a second straight year. But a loss would end the career of Ray Lewis. The longtime Baltimore Raven is expected to join the network’s Monday Night Countdown program.
Ray Lewis won’t be out of work for long once this football season ends. According to a report from SI.com, Lewis is expected to sign a multi-year contract with sports network ESPN and will have “a significant role” on the station’s Monday Night Countdown program. Lewis, who was drafted by the Ravens in their first draft after the franchise relocated from Cleveland, announced his impending retirement Wednesday following this year’s playoffs. Lewis, a middle linebacker, has been the heart and soul of the franchise for 17 seasons, and helped lead the team to its only Super Bowl title in 2000. The Ravens will take on the Indianapolis Colts, the franchise that broke the city’s heart when it moved in 1984, at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis will retire at the end of the team's run in the current postseason. Lewis made the announcement while speaking to the media early Wednesday afternoon. The Ravens' Twitter feed said he told the team, "This will be my last ride." Lewis, the MVP of the Ravens' last Super Bowl in 2001, will have spent his entire 17-season career with Baltimore. Lewis, a first-round pick for the Ravens in 1996 (their first season in Baltimore) has been selected for 13 Pro Bowls and has three times been named the AFC defensive player of the year, in 2000, 2001 and 2003.
