Supporters of the Bel Air teen charged with shooting and killing his father in January 2012 are planning to rally on his behalf before his Friday morning court appearance. Robert Conley Richardson III, 17, of the 800 block of Moores Mill Road is scheduled to be in court at 10:30 a.m. Friday for a criminal motions hearing, according to online court records. A suppression hearing was initially scheduled for 10 a.m. that morning, but has since been postponed, court records show. The Harford County State's Attorney's office announced Tuesday that a grand jury has indicted Robert C. Richardson, 16, with first degree murder in the shooting death of his father, Robert Richardson Jr. The younger Richardson was also indicted by a grand jury for second degree murder and use of handgun in a violent crime. Police have been called to the home of Robert Richardson III a dozen times.
While police say there have been a dozen calls for police service to Robert Richardson's home over the past year, none were related to domestic violence until the night of the shooting, Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said Wednesday. For instant updates, follow Bel Air Patch on Facebook and Twitter. Four of the calls to the home related to Richardson III having gone missing. He was quickly found in each instance and returned home, Worrell said. "There was no indicator that he was afraid to come back to the home," Worrell said.
