A White Hall man sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
UPDATE: (9:39 p.m.)—A Maryland State Police trooper shot a White Hall man Monday afternoon after the man pointed a shotgun at him, police say. Shortly before 1:30 p.m. a woman called 911 and said her boyfriend, 52-year-old John E. Murphy, was armed and announcing he wanted to be killed by police, according to a release from state police. Police release the name of the Saturday shooting victim.
While police say the Saturday shooting of a 20-year-old Edgewood man was not random, it remained unclear Monday whether the incident was related to gang or drug activity. Before 1:30 p.m., Solothol Delilly, 20, was hit over the head then shot in the leg outside the the Save-a-Lot in the 1800 block of Pulaski Highway in Edgewood, according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Delilly was taken by Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to Upper Cheasapeake Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening. A third victim was identified Tuesday night.
(UPDATE 10:41 a.m. Wednesday)—Police identified a third victim following a shooting in Edgewood Tuesday night, and the crime is under investigation. Around 8:15 p.m. a shooting took place in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive in Edgewood, according to Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Harford County sheriff's deputies quickly identified two victims, a 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, according to a release from the sheriff's office. One man is charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting earlier this week.
An alleged gunman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Monday in Edgewood that left one person injured. Neal Aaron Turner, with addresses in the 1800 block of Brookside Drive in Edgewood and the 2400 block of East Fayette Street in Baltimore, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon without incident, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Turner, who turns 27 on Friday, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime. A South Carolina man was shot in the arm during a Friday night function at the VFW post 6054 in Perryman, police said. The victim and witnesses of the crime, however, have not cooperated with investigators, Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said Monday. A 34-year-old Joppa man is facing assault charges after allegedly shooting at another driver on U.S. Interstate 95 Wednesday. Nicholas Heider, 34, of the 1600 block of Dugan Drive, was charged Wednesday with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, reckless endangerment from a car, illegally having a handgun in a vehicle and use of a handgun in commission of a felony or violent crime. Charges are pending against a 16-year-old teenager after police say he admitted to shooting his father to death at their Bel Air home and dumping his body in Aberdeen. Sheriff's deputies were called to the family's home in the 800 block of Moores Mill Road in Bel Air around 10:45 p.m. Monday, said Monica Worrell, spokeswoman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police arrested two men Friday in connection with a Dec. 8 murder in Edgewood. The Harford County Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph Andrew Nelson, 20, of Edgewater Drive in Edgewood, and Coty Lamonte Wilson, 21, of Mountain Road in Fallston on Friday. Nelson and Wilson were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Christopher Curtis Alves, 21, of Edgewood. Both are being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
