Bel Air Sovereign Bank Robbed, State Police Investigating

The bank on Maryland Route 924 was robbed twice within less than a month.

Soveriegn Bank in Bel Air was robbed Friday for the second time in three weeks, and Maryland State Police are investigating. On Jan. 4, Maryland State Police responded to a reported robbery at Sovereign Bank at 1816 Emmorton Road in Bel Air, a short distance from Patterson Mill Middle/High School, a dispatcher confirmed Friday. Around 11:30 a.m. the robber walked into the bank, displayed a "Bull Pup" style, pistol grip, short barrelled shotgun and ordered tellers to open the cash drawers, according to a release from state police. The man ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. …
