There is no short term solution. What I will continue to work on is a longer term solution focused on Rt.1 /Rt. 24. Although the intersection is within Town limits it joins two state roadways .This intersection was designed in the 70’s & prevailing wisdom at the time was an at- grade intersection which they felt was more appropriate for Bel Air than an overpass. We spoke to SHA on numerous …   more ›

Preston Endorses 2 Incumbents, 1 Challenger

Three signs outside the town commissioner's business indicate for whom he said he will vote.

Robert Preston may not be up for reelection next month, but he knows which candidates will receive his three votes. And if you drive by his Main Street business—Preston Stationery—it’s not hard to figure out. “[I have] signs for the three slots I feel are appropriate,” Preston told Patch after Monday’s town meeting. “I do support Robert Reier and Edward Hopkins as well as Greg Adolph.” Reier and Hopkins are incumbents while Adolph has stepped forward as a challenger for the second time in as many Board of Commissioner elections. Congressman Harris To Speak at Adolph Fundraiser

Greg Adolph is hosting a private event at his home Monday night.

UPDATE (8:47 p.m.)—Board of Commissioners candidate Greg Adolph appears to have scored a weighty endorsement from Congressman Andy Harris for next month's Bel Air election. Adolph, a Lee Way resident, is hosting an invitation-only party with a recommended donation of $40 at his home Monday night. "It’s kind of a community gathering slash fundraising event for me. Those in attendance for me are primarily friends and family," Adolph told Patch by phone Monday afternoon. "A few business representatives as well and [we're] just going to try to get together and share some thoughts and ideas." Harris is slated to be a guest speaker. "He jumped at the chance to help a young conservative at the local level," Dave Schwartz, a spokesman for Harris, …
