Just before my 27th birthday, I was standing on the roof at the Sheraton Park Hotel on Cathedral Avenue in Northwest Washington DC. I was making sure President Kennedy wasn't shot. This was my last duty before my resignation from the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C. took hold and I became a freshman at West Chester State College. Since then I taught English, journalism and coached soccer at Dundalk High School, earned degrees at Loyola and Johns Hopkins and coached soccer at UMBC. I was president of TABCO from 1989 until 1993. Later I taught writing at Harford CC and York College.
