John Lindroth
My interest in photography started a long time ago, when my Dad bought some Kodak black and white film for an Ansco Panda camera. I wandered around the neighborhood taking pictures of anything that looked interesting. To keep up with my interest, he bought me a little film developing and contact print making kit. At that point, I was totally hooked. By the time I was in high school I had a full B&W darkroom in my bedroom, and was making 16x20 prints.
I came to South Carolina in 1984 to attend the Medical University of South Carolina, in a unique program for a Master's Degree in Biomedical Computing. I can't say I planned to stay, but 27 years later I'm still calling South Carolina home. I've worked at MUSC and a few other companies in the area as a software engineer. Only recently has photography become a career for me. I started my own business, John Lindroth Photography, in 2010, and I'm learning the ropes of self-employment.
