loved Peace Yoga......it has been a little while since I was there but the teachers were helpful with a beginner like me (in the beginner class). It is a great excercise not only for the body but the mind and spirit.

Wednesdays yes....but like normal people hours like 3-8 No way we can get to town during the day as we work. whether at court house or on mainstreet evening hours is best. if more businesses stayed open in the evenings on main street they would be successful and people would keep it local --- otherwise, you close 3-5o'clock so we go elsewhere.

Gun control as you think isn't the answer, as it already exists. It is called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and RESPECT for others. I don't own guns....but know how to use them and have many friends that own them responsibly. hunting for quite a few is a way of life and how they feed themselves. Nothing wrong with that. This individual made a poor choice.

The suggestion I emailed to our principle (CMW) is that they need to educate parents on how they can ensure the numbers they want called are 'in the system' as we don't know where it is coming from. Also suggested that they utilize email and/or phone texting. At the same time....parents have to understand that there are some cases where they can't make the call right away or post right away.....but again...what is the process they use to determine when to make the call, etc. This is a good thing as it is showing where the inconsistencies in the processes are and what they need to fix. Before everyone starts jumping and blaming....the question does need to be presented to the HCPS board about what is the policy to determine when the call is made, why not also utilize technology and where is the school getting the phone numbers from?

Each parent has a responsiblity to make sure that their phone number is on file to get the calls. Like last week, CMW notified the parents as appropriate and tonight as well. The other schools should've sent notification and if they didn't, they will have to explain that reason. I wish they would do email notification as well.....very easy for them to publish it via edline...... but I will say, you would be surprised how many families DO NOT have current information on file and do not check their edline. CMW handled appropriately -- although many of us would prefer the email and/or phone txting to alert us -- the technology is there. Any parent at CMW not getting the calls.....you need to check your phone info that is on file. Also.....keeping students home.....that was only an option for John Carroll not CMW or other schools. I do appreciate the patch publishing the info. Based on everyone's responses there are MANY MANY inconsistencies in the information that the school system has and it needs to be addressed. In this day and age....and the technology that is available.....should be no problem with communicating.....but again you would be surprised how many families don't even check their info is correct.

Personally....the Orient is a GREAT place! The sushi we have ordered there is very fresh and tastes great! try the green rolll, kiri roll....there are a whole bunch there...
food we ordered there has always tasted great. no beer/wine yet...but I believe you can bring your own...however when we eat chinese we have water or hot tea.

the balloons I can understand as they had to somehow attract attention so that people know that a business on main street is open. especially in the evenings when it all shuts down except for the food places.

we have been pleased all four times we have been there since they opened

We want a Walmart there at that location. Best place as the traffic is already coming through there and it would keep out small vacant bldgs that are already all over. Funny as Fallston said they didn't want a Walmart and I see many Fallston people at that Walmart. Having Walmart there would improve the traffic conditions of that area. The people that are already in the area would use the Walmart. funny as some of those protesting Walmart are already traveling to Walmart in Abingdon....this one would be nicer and full service and would clean up the area nicely.

would much rather have a super walmart there than more useless office bldgs and vacant storefronts. funny as the fallston one was protested but it happened and it looks good in the area and it is busy. this one will be good too as they will close down the other one in abingdon that really is in a location that doesn't support that kind've traffic
