Rebecca White, Neighbor

My name is Rebecca White and I live in Harford County. I was home-schooled through high school, graduating in May 2009. I graduated from Harford Community College (HCC) in May 2011 with an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies with a concentration in English. In the fall of 2011, I will transfer to Towson University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications with a tract in Journalism.

During my time at HCC, I worked for the college’s publication, <i>The Harford Owl,</i> where I held the positions of News Editor, Photography Editor and Editor in Chief. My experience as Editor furthered my love for Journalism and was a useful leadership opportunity. I was employed by the Writing Center in my last semester where I tutored students in English, Research Writing and other subjects and will continue to work there after the summer. Additionally, I was the Executive Vice President of HCC’s Honors Society, Phi Theta Kappa, where I became involved in the campus community and Harford County.

In addition to being involved in my home church where I am an adult leader and teach middle school girls, I also enjoy participating in other volunteer ministries such as Convoy of Hope and Beachmont Christian Ministries. From a young age I have always been passionate about writing and journalism and am so excited to pursue the opportunity to work for Bel Air Patch and become a contributor to the world of media in my future.
