About Rich
I am a lifelong resident of Bel Air where I grew up on the family farm just outside of town. (I am proud to say it is still there today!). I graduated from John Carroll High School in 1988 and began by my fire service career while an undergraduate student at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. It was there in March 1990 I joined the Chestertown VFC, followed by BAVFC in June 1990. I graduated with a BS degree in Biology in 1992 but continued on in public safety and in 1993 I became a dispatcher with the Harford County Division of Emergency Operations 911 Center. In 2001 I was hired as a firefighter with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Fire and Rescue Department and also as a Hazardous Materials Technician with the Harford County Hazardous Materials
Response Team. Today I hold the rank of Fire Captain with the Airports Authority and continue as a part time employee of both the 911 Center and the Haz-Mat Team.
Over the past 21 years I have held several offices with the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company over the years including a
member of the Board of Directors, Fire Sergeant, and Fire Lieutenant. I remain an active member of the BAVFC where I continue to serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO). In addition I also serve as the co-PIO of the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association with Dave Williams from the Fallston VFD.
All of this is done with love and support of my wife Kristen (a past medic and member of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps), and our three boys; Josh 13, Colin 9 and Ryan 13 months.

Hi,
I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved
with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your friends.
If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Here is the link for the film:
