Fallston Teen Aims to Launch Music Career with Video

Like many 18-year olds, Piper Bateman recently graduated from high school and is preparing to enter college in the Fall; unlike her peers, she is also preparing to shoot a music video. Bateman, working with Baltimore-based filmmaker Jane Hollon, is finalizing the selection of shooting locations, choosing costumes, and is wrapping-up the many details necessary to prepare for the music video production of her first single “Finally A Refugee.”

“My ultimate goal is to work in the music industry,” says Bateman. “I’ll be studying music and communications in college. Hopefully this music video is more than just a line on my resume; I want it to help me lay the foundation of success in my career.”

Director Jane Hollon studied film production at the University of Southern California before returning to her native Maryland. The making of “Finally A Refugee” will be her first music video serving as director. “I am thrilled to be working with Piper to bring her song to life,” says Hollon. “I really believe in Piper and her music; she is such a talented performer and is inspiring me to create this music video. This is a project that is truly what art and getting started is all about.”

To help finance the music video, Bateman has launched a KickStarter.com campaign. Anyone who wishes to pledge money toward the making of the video “Finally A Refugee” can go to ww.Kickstarter.com and search for either Piper Bateman or “Finally A Refugee.”
