Bel Air Library Hosts Author Extravaganza

The Harford County Public Library Bel Air Branch will host 22 local authors on Sunday.

Twenty-two local authors will be at the Bel Air Library on Sunday to sign books and converse with fellow authors and reading fans.

The library will host Local Authors Gift Extravaganza at 2 p.m. Sunday. Authors from around the county will be on hand to talk about their writing habits, give tips for getting started in writing and share their inspirations for their own books.

“One reason why we do it is because writing is an isolating experience. It’s something you do alone and often times for hours at a time,” said library spokesperson Bethany Hacker. “This gives the authors an opportunity to talk to readers, and also to talk to each other about different experiences and tips.”

The authors will be signing and selling their work, which Hacker says would make a great holiday gift.

There will be something for everyone at the event; the authors will represent a wide variety of genres from memoirs, to thrillers to children’s books.

“Whatever you read, you will find an author there that writes that style,” Hacker said.
