Harford County's Snowfall Highest in State

Norrisville received the most snow in Maryland, according to the National Weather Service.

The preliminary snow counts are in and Harford County had some of the highest snowfall totals in Maryland, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service reported the following unofficial snowfall observations:

  • 7.5 inches in Norrisville
  • 7 inches in Bel Air
  • 6.3 inches in northeast Bel Air
  • 6 inches in west Bel Air
  • 4 inches at the Conowingo Dam
Around the state, many jurisdictions received at least a few inches of powder: Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties reported more than 5 inches in some areas, according to the report.

Still, other parts of the country have had more snow than Maryland during the past few days as snowstorms have chilled the northeast and midwest.

In Illinois, 18 inches of snow has fallen since New Year's Eve, according to the Wall Street JournalLong Island received more than a foot of snow by Friday afternoon, NBC New York reported.
