Self-Confidence is the Cornerstone of Success

A stumbling block for many, self-confidence is the cornerstone of success.

Say the term “self-confidence” to Christian Women Entrepreneurs, and you’ll undoubtedly get mixed reactions.

  • Egotistical, say some.
  • Our birthright, say others.

Our view of self-confidence informs our ability to claim it. If developing self-confidence is inconsistent with our worldview, we will never truly believe in ourselves and our ability to succeed.

Do we truly believe we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God in the image of God?

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

Do we truly believe we are crowned with glory and honor?

What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. (Psalm 8:4-6)

If we do so believe, then self-confidence is synonymous with God-confidence: confidence in God’s handiwork, confidence in His ability to work in us and through us, confidence in our divine calling. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
