We are so excited to have a top-tier winner here in Maryland. It will definitely add a bright spot to an otherwise rainy week,” Maryland Lottery Communications Director Carole Everett said in a statement. “We can’t wait to meet Maryland’s newest multi-millionaire.”

Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket. The winner, who has 182 days to claim, can decide between the [$108.8] million annuity or a $64.2 million cash option. After taxes, the annuity will pay approximately $1.2 million per year for 30 years. If the cash option is chosen, the winner will receive a lump payment of $42.2 million.

Powerball is played in 43 states and Washington D.C. The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday with a $20 million jackpot.
