8-Vehicle Accident, Light Malfunctions, Slow Morning Commute

Three state road intersections were having traffic light problems.

UPDATE (8:43 a.m.)—Maryland Route 543 is "right-turn only" at U.S. Route 1 Wednesday morning after an eight-vehicle accident and a traffic light malfunction, according to police.

A duty officer for the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack said the incident occurred around 7:20 a.m.

Traffic lights for Maryland Route 924 at East MacPhail Road and Maryland Route 152 at Harford Road are also malfunctioning, another duty officer said.

Police did not know of any injuries from the Route 543 accident.

The State Highway Administration is working on fixing the lights, the duty officer said.
