A "be on the lookout" had been issued for the driver who caused the accident, according to police.

UPDATE (9:09 p.m.)—Two people were flown to Maryland Shock Trauma on Monday after a head-on collision involving a male who had been flagged earlier in the day for "aggressive driving," according to Maryland State Police.

Maryland Route 23 was closed between U.S. Route 1 and Maryland Route 24 as a result of the accident. The stretch of road was reopened around 8:45 p.m.

An unidentified man was driving a 2010 Ford, model unknown, west on East-West Highway when he crossed the double-yellow line and hit another vehicle head-on, the duty officer said. A third car then "ricocheted" off the car struck by the male. The two other vehicles in the accident were 2010 and 2011 Toyotas, though police could not confirm the models, nor the order in which order they were struck.
