Harford County Issued Tornado Watch, Other Weather Alerts

Up to two inches of rain are expected during Saturday's storms.

Several severe weather alerts have been issued by the National Weather Service for Harford County, including a tornado watch, which is in effect until 9 p.m.

Along with the high winds, the area has been issued a coastal flood warning until 11 a.m. Sunday and a flash flood watch until Saturday night.

In a recorded message distributed via telephone at about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Harford County Emergency Manager Rick Ayers urged residents to be attentive to approaching storms and to take shelter if necessary.

The message also asked residents not to call 911 for flooded basements, as volunteer fire companies cannot respond to such incidents.

Thunderstorms and up to 2 inches of rain are expected through Saturday night. Sunday is expected to be windy with a high in the mid-60s and no precipitation.
