Police: Burned Mercedes, Sledgehammered BMW Boy Shot with BB Gun, DUI

Recent crime and other incidents as handled by the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

March 7, 8:35 a.m. Somebdy shot a 16-year-old boy with a BB gun near Edgewood High School. The victim said he was shot in the 800 block of Edgewood Road. He said a pickup truck slowed next to him. and a passenger shot him multiple times in the arm, causing a “small wound.”

March 7, 7:05 a.m. A Joppa resident’s vehicle was stolen in Edgewood. A 62-year-old woman from the 300 block of Mountain Road said she was at a friend’s house when her blue 1990 Ford Tempo was stolen, but she does not know the street address.

March 5, 2:01 p.m. A 47-year-old Joppa woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence. Julia Ann Ellerman of the 200 block of Foster Knoll Drive was charged as a result of a traffic stop on Joppa Farm Road. She was granted probation before judgment on charges of driving under the influence in November 1997.

March 2, between 12:40 p.m. and 2 p.m. A male student at Patterson Mill High School told police an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from his wallet, which was in locker.

March 2, 9:30 a.m. A black “myTouch” cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a 15-year-old female student’s gym bag at Edgewood High School.

March 2, 9:03 a.m. A 50-year-old Bel Air man was arrested on charges of assault and malicious destruction of property. Police say Terry Francis Weigman Jr. of the 1600 block of Shucks Road tried to set fire to a Mercedes, according to police, while also damaging a Nissan truck, a BMW and another Mercedes by using a sledgehammer.

Feb. 28, between 8:40 a.m. and 2 p.m. A silver iPod Touch was stolen from a 14-year-old male student at Harford Tech High School.
