Woman Hit By Tent's Steel Beam at BBQ Bash

The woman was transported to the hospital.

UPDATE (4:16 p.m.)—An unidentified woman has been hospitalized Saturday in Bel Air after part of a vendor tent at the Maryland BBQ Bash collapsed on her.

The woman suffered a "head injury," according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. as a thunderstorm and heavy rain moved into town. The woman was struck by metal bars that held up signs outside a tent.

Paramedics treated the woman on the scene before the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company transported her to an undisclosed hospital via ambulance.
