Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company - WELCOME

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company joins the Bel Air Patch blog group!

Welcome to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company blog! My name is Rich Gardiner and I am the PIO/Spokesperson for the BAVFC and the Co-PIO/Spokesperson for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. (There is a small bio under my profile if you want to learn more about my background).  I will be blogging as often as possible discussing who the BAVFC is, what we do, how we do things, and how it involves you. There is a lot of interesting things to learn about the fire and EMS services that you probably didn't know.  Remember we are a dynamic service and there is always something happening everyday. Some things are cool and exciting. Some things are sad and tragic. Those in the fire and EMS service transgress through these emotions rather quickly during the course of their day. It is our intent to help you understand this and gain a better understanding of what we are all about.

If you have any questions about the BAVFC or anything else related to the fire service in Harford County please feel free to email me (PIO@bavfc.org) and I will answer them to the best of my ability in the blog. If I can't I will put you in touch with someone who can. You can also follow us on Twitter @ belairvolfireco and through our website at www.bavfc.org

Lastly and most importantly the BAVFC is very grateful to Brad Gerick and the Patch for giving us this opportunity to reach out in an all new way to the citizens we serve. In todays society social media has quickly eclipsed the days of the daily newspaper. People want to see and hear the news as it breaks and this is one of our ways of doing it. Hopefully you like it!
