Snow Announcement from Harford County Public Schools for Monday

Harford County school officials made the announcement Sunday night.

Students will have a long weekend in Harford County.

Harford County Public Schools decided to cancel classes for Monday, according to Chief of Administration Joe Licata, who made the announcement just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The school system is on Code Green, meaning essential personnel should report for duty. Before reporting, essential personnel should wait for further instructions on their reporting times, Licata said.

No second shift custodians will be on duty, and all daycare and evening activities in Harford County Public Schools are canceled Monday.

The region is under a winter storm warning through 6 p.m. Monday due to a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet from Winter Storm Titan. Harford County may get 8 to 12 inches of snow, according to Emergency Manager Rick Ayers,

Harford County used nine inclement weather days by March 1 and voted last month to use a day of spring break to ensure schools would be in session for the 180 days required by state law.
